Mike Bonales begins to draw consciously at the sweet age of 6 years. Since then he hasn’t dropped the pencil and it has turned into an inseparable companion. Being a teenager he began publishing his first works, getting scarce benefits but a “great artistic satisfaction”. After graduating at high-school, he began to wander through life, dedicating four sabbatical years to the study of informatics, while he managed to pull out some freelance illustration jobs. Various circumstances of life brought him to work as web designer, and to eventually publish a strip called Polo Sur (the Spanish version of South Pole that you can see now), which helped him enter into the comics world, after which he was able to publish new material in numerous and diverse media: comics for the Spanish edition of MAD, a Calico Electronico illustrated volume, strips for a bank’s blog (BBVA), etc…
Since then he decided to roll out the red carpet by pulling out a daily strip for South Pole, for the joy and delight of all his followers. What will be the next step? Keep posted… there could be more than just a few surprises…
